About Us

Christian E. Wannamaker, CCIM, Principal – Chris joined Providence in 2000 and became a Principal of the firm in 2006. Chris focuses his practice on sales acquisitions
and dispositions, tenant representation, and project leasing. Prior to joining Providence, Chris spent 11 years with Continental General Tire as a Mechanical Engineer and Project Manager. He is active in the community and currently serves as the Chairman of FreeMoreWest Partners. He has served on the City of Charlotte’s Brownfield Site Selection Committee, and the boards of the McColl School of Business, Friends of Fourth Ward, The Sierra Club, and the Bi-State Catawba River Task Force. Chris has a mechanical engineering degree from Duke University, an MBA from the McColl School of Business, and a Masters in Urban Studies from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. (Current member of the Charlotte Region of Commercial Board Of Realtors- CRCBR.)

Clayton W. Durkin - Clay joined Providence in 2008. He focuses his practice on tenant representation, project leasing, sales acquisitions and dispositions. Prior to Providence, Clay served in the retail group of Charlotte architectural firm, LITTLE. A 1992 graduate
of Greensboro's Guilford College with a B.A. in Economics, he possesses a wide range
of experiences including business development, marketing services and creative services. He holds as well an A.A.S. in Advertising and Graphic Design, acquired in 2004. A native of Philadelphia, Clay and his wife have one child. He has resided in Charlotte for over eighteen years and in his spare time he volunteers as a youth mentor at the Naomi Drenan Recreation Center. (Current member of the Charlotte Region of Commercial Board Of Realtors- CRCBR.)

PeteBabak Emadi - Babak contributes to the Providence Commercial team over 20 years
of real estate related design experience. As a Co-founder and a Principal at Urbana,
an urban design and architecture firm, Babak has worked with clients and developers
to maximize property values. He has extensive experience helping his clients with site feasibility analysis, highest and best use studies, planning and rezonings, and conducting due diligences as his clients either reposition their properties or are working to acquire one. Since his move to Charlotte in 1984, Babak has been involved in the Elizabeth and NoDa neighborhood home and business associations, non-profit organizations, and city stakeholder volunteer groups. He currently serves on the board of the Habitat for Humanity of Cornelius and Piedmont Middle School leadership team. Babak is a graduate of College of Architecture, University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
